William Least Heat-Moon once said, “The open road is beckoning, a strangeness, a place where a man can lose himself.” Magee Homestead exemplifies that sentiment through plentiful opportunities to explore over 50 miles of Western expanse and endless adventure. Embark on private hiking trips to the peak of Medicine Bow at 12,000 feet above sea level, bringing you indelible sights from one of the highest peaks in the country.
From early-morning wildlife hikes to all-day epics to the back corners of the Ranch, we offer a variety of adventures for the novice to the seasoned trail runners and hikers.
Medicine Bow National Forest
The million-acre Medicine Bow National Forest neighbors the Ranch property and is home to some of the most stunning scenery in the West.
Cover miles of beautiful national forest lands to find scenic vistas of the valley. This half-day adventure is perfect for small groups and families, providing an exhilarating and intimate look at Medicine Bow National Forest.
Guided Ranger Tours
Through the summer months, set out on tours of the Ranch property in all-terrain Polaris Ranger vehicles. This is a great way to learn the history of the Ranch and see firsthand some of the outstanding spots that make our land so incredible. Tours generally take breaks in particularly beautiful locations to let guests out to walk around, snap photos, and take in the breathtaking views.
