Our horseback program blends the authentic heritage of traditional Western riding on our herd of genuine quarter horses. From our stately 28,000 square foot indoor riding arena and stables to our 50-plus miles of private trails and endless open range, Magee Homestead provides classic riding for riders of all ages and skill levels. Our guests enjoy group trail rides, destination riding adventures, and horsemanship instruction with wranglers who provide a supportive environment that fosters learning and growth.
Magee Homestead provides a variety of trail rides for beginner and intermediate riders. From short rides around the banks of Brush Creek to longer excursions through expansive cattle ranges, there is nothing like seeing the grandeur of our Ranch by horseback.
Enjoy a full day’s ride with a gourmet picnic lunch along the banks of the Platte River. If you are feeling especially adventurous, join our wranglers for a once-in-a-lifetime cattle drive journey. This authentic three-hour drive will take you across various terrain as you help move cattle.
Advanced Trail Rides
For those with previous riding experience, we offer a variety of more advanced rides across the Ranch with the option to trot and lope. From fording creeks to trips high into the upper reaches of the Ranch wilderness, these 2.5-3 hour rides offer exciting challenges for guests.
Instruction & Wrangling Activities
Our wrangler staff offers a variety of other riding experiences for guests, from individual and group basic riding instruction to advanced skills like barrel racing and pole bending. It’s your perfect chance to try something completely new, or learn a new skill while with us on the Ranch.
